Spooktacular

Who knows what devilish fun lurks in the shadows of Montrose after dark? The Montrose Shopping Park Association hopes the public will drop by to find out. The annual Montrose Halloween Spooktacular will weave its magic in the 2200, 2300 and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Ave. on Halloween night, Wednesday October 31, from 5:00 PM 'til 8:30 PM.

This perennial favorite, co-sponsored by the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce, is a true family event full of traditional tricks and treats as well as a few surprises. From 5:00 PM until the treats are gone, the Montrose Shopping Park Merchants will give out candy throughout the Shopping Park.

Costume contests for both two-legged and four-legged trick-or-treaters will take place from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in front of Landry's in the 2200 block with "sign-ups" starting at 5:00 PM. Categories for the costume contests will include Spooky, Cute, Most Original and Family.

This year's Spooktacular will also include food booths and bounce houses, so plan to bring your appetite and enjoy hot dogs and lemonade, hot popped Kettle Corn and delicious roasted corn on the cob. Bounce the night away on a two-story slide, a 40' obstacle course and a magic bounce castle. Get in the spooky spirit of things and have your face painted by Face Makers. The Montrose Shopping Park Association invites everyone to get into the spirit of this safe and supervised event and spend Halloween in the Montrose.
